Over half of the adults in India have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 16% have received both the doses, stated the Union government on Thursday.
The cumulative number of vaccine doses administered in the country has surpassed the 67 crore-mark. All the adults have received at least one dose of a COVID vaccine in Sikkim, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Himachal Pradesh. In Sikkim, 36% of the eligible population has got the second dose, while the corresponding figures are 18% in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and 32% in Himachal Pradesh.
Ladakh, Daman and Diu, Tripura, Mizoram and the Lakshwadeep have more than 85% of the population with the first dose administered. Overall, 16% of the adults in the country have been administered both the doses of a COVID-19 vaccine while 54% have received at least one dose… (NDTV – PTI, September 2, 2021)
